Book An Appointment
What happens at your first dental appointment in Watford?
At this stage, we will take some information from you which allows us to find out more about your general health and your oral health.
When you meet your dentist for the first time they will conduct a thorough check of your mouth, inspecting your teeth, bite and gums. We will also talk through any problems or concerns that you might have with your teeth.
We may take x-rays at this time of your teeth and gums, and this gives us a better understanding about your oral health.
If there’s any further treatment that your dentist recommends, or any treatment that you are interested in, you can discuss this during your first meeting too.
Based on what your dentist has recommended, you can then book in for any other treatment, or arrange your next dental check-up, which will usually be in 6 or 12-months’ time.
Benefits of regular dental check-ups in Watford
You should see your dentist and hygienist once or twice a year according to your dentist’s recommendations.
Patients from Moor Park, Chandler’s Cross, Watford, Rickmansworth, Bushey, and Hertfordshire benefit from regular dental check-ups because:
- We can ensure an effective preventative approach to dentistry with regular dental check-ups. If any issues arise with your oral health, we can diagnose and treat problems early on and avoid potentially costly complications later
- Regular dental check-ups mean we can keep an eye on dental plaque. Plaque can only be removed by a professional dentist or hygienist and failure to do so can lead to tooth decay and gum disease
- With a regular dental check-up, you can ensure a healthy and beautiful smile
- Dental check-ups can help protect your general health as well as your oral health. The two are closely linked so in promoting your oral health, you’re less likely to run a risk of developing diseases such as oral cancer, heart disease and diabetes
